World Optometry Day

Optometrists are the primary healthcare practitioners of the eye and visual system who provide comprehensive eye and vision care, which includes refraction and dispensing, detection/diagnosis and management of disease in the eye, and the rehabilitation of conditions of the visual system as defined by the World Council of Optometry. An optometrist also provides vision therapy, low vision care, contact lenses, pediatric are 23rd March is marked as the World Optometry Day and the following week as the World Optometry Week. This day is specially celebrated to awareness about optometry as a profession. It was the first time World Optometry Day was celebrated at Naseema institute Optometry and Research. On that day optometry students of our college and other colleges students presents scientific paper presentation, poster and video and also perform cultural program. Also publish Optometry Magazine. The events and inauguration function was held on 23th March 2015 and witnessed a participation of 4 optometry colleges across Bangalore. Almost more than 200 students had attended the program. 6 students participated in scientific paper presentation and 50 students participated in poster presentation. The inauguration function was inaugurated by Shri. U.T.Khader (Honorable Minister for Health and Family Welfare) presided by Shri.U.T.Zulfikar Ali (Chairman of Naseema Institute of Optometry and Research)
